Good Manners Cost Nothing: Line Pushing and Swearing...

Dropped by the supermarket yesterday on way home to pick up some stamps. On entering the store and joining the line of 2 people I witnessed a guy walk in which set off the alarms, he strolls up to the line that now consists of 1 guy and 86 year old lady wanting to put on her lottery tickets on in front of me and 2 mums with young children in prams behind me.

This chav walks up to me money in hand and the following exchange happened:

Chav: Can you put this lotto on and get me cigs I can't be bothered to wait in line...

Me: No, sorry, You will have to wait in line like everyone else.

Chav: F***ing weirdo...

Me: Language please, there are women and children stood right here, they should not have to put up
with you swearing in front of them and their children, It's disrespectful so learn some manners and get to the back of the line and wait to be served like the rest of us."

He then proceeded to leave the shop swearing and ranting without his lotto tickets and cigarettes, as he left the alarm went off again and he was picked up by a security guard... on leaving the store after getting the stamps and passing by him in the entrance he decided to call me every name under the sun in a barrage of insults.

Conclusion:

I admit that I do swear occasionally behind closed doors at home and have self control to stop myself swearing. And it annoys me that people swear so openly in public with out realising that they are swearing every other word or so. Good manners cost nothing and respecting others should be a universal understanding between everyone but some people don't seem to be able to grasp simple concepts like waiting in line and not swearing in front of children and people of the older generation.

This might be come part of a series of blog post as is have a few other situations I want to blog about so stay tuned and keep following this blog.
